This is Mr. Burton reading his book "The Sole Voice" at his home on Angela Street in Key West, circa 1991. There are a lot of background sounds, but some think this adds to the charm of a true labor of love.

Susan Mesker was outraged that so few successful recordings of Mr. Burton existed. She bought a good cassette recorder and microphone, and took it upon herself to engineer and produce this work.

It was edited and replicated by Melody Cooper at Private Ear Recording Studio's original Truman Avenue location, and was presented in a large folder of 12 cassettes. The picture to the right was on its cover.
